I know many people are interested in our paranormal investigations. Every one loves a good "ghost story". As I've told people a lot of investigating is spent waiting for something to happen. An investigation doesn't have to be done at night. Entities are around 24/7 just like us :D. One of my best investigations was during the day at Fort Mifflin in Philadelphia. They host regular ghost tours there and Ideal Events has a night time tour with Ghost Hunting celebrities there at least once a year. This time though it was just my daughters Patricia,Jessie and me. We had just spoken with one of the docents who works there. She had shown us a picture of an appariton taken by an 8 year old boy on a school trip. You could see half of a face and torso. He looked like a pirate. We asked her if pirates had ever been imprisoned there, she said indeed they had. Well we decided we had to investigate at the same place and at the same time of day . It was our last day there and we had stopped by for one more investigation before boarding the plane. Most of our equipment was packed already so all we had was a couple of gaussmeters and a K2 meter. I had even packed our recorders which I still regret to this day! You really don't need any equipment to ghost hunt just yourself and your 5 senses. Some of the equipment does make communication much easier. One method use incommunicating with an entity is called "provoking". The idea is if the entity is not responsive you can "provoke" him/her/it into a response by being rude, angry , taunting so on and so forth. I don't choose to use this method myself. My whole purpose is to help whoever may be there. Anyway back to Ft. Mifflin. We had been asking questions for a half hour with no knocks, bangs, squeaks, pokes or anything lighting up the equipment. So I said ( to my daughters to be funny...I thought). "OH! The BIG BAAAD pirate can't even light up the little box." well those meters lit up so fast they almost flew off the bunk! We all looked at each other and burst out laughing, which set off another round of lights going off like crazy! At which point I said " I am so sorry I meant no disrespect to you I was making a joke." We then "chatted" with him via the meters for quite awhile. THAT was fun!......blog later.....Joan
