Today I started on our first rewrite of our new book Flash Zombies the second book in the Ryan O'Rouke crime series. It's funny how many things you see that you wonder what you were thinking the first time you wrote that sentence or paragraph or chapter. It's amazing to me how many times I think the reader is a MIND reader and knows why a character would act, say or do certain things without me ever telling them. To make matters worse I had a million things to do before I sat down to start writing (or in this case rewriting). You know IMPORTANT things: fix breakfast, shower, dress, do dishes, laundry, clean the kitchen and so on. I was in such a hurry that while I was throwing a piece of trash away I stood up and turned and.......BAM! I was seeing stars (not the good kind either). I may have blacked out for a minute. I had hit my head on the corner of a metal pot rack. So now I have a giant goose egg on my forehead but at least I was ready to write. Now I may not have been so gentle with my characters today. Actually I think one cussed for the first time ever. When Chris got home and we went over the rewrites he laughed and said "And now we're officially PG13!". This is only the first rewrite....there will be more, I can only hope tomorrow I don't break a limb or something equally disasterous.....who knows what I'd have poor Ryan and Siobahn saying and doing.......blog later .......Joan
